Please follow the following guidelines to ensure the most accurate information with the recommended bacterial culture.
1. Do not rinse with any over-the-counter or prescription mouth rinse for two weeks prior to your culture appointment.
2. Schedule the bacterial culture at least 4 to 6 weeks after any type of periodontal treatment or dental prophylaxis (cleaning).
3. If antibiotics are taken for any reason, the bacterial culture should be scheduled or re-scheduled 6 weeks after antibiotic therapy to allow for bacterial recolonization.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any member of our dental team.
The fee for this bacterial culture is due at the time of service. Unfortunately, this procedure is typically not covered by your dental insurance carrier.
